Course Overview:
This four-hour seminar will provide emergency managers with important information regarding climate change and the effect it could have on underserved populations after major disasters. The seminar will focus on equity in emergency planning and ensuring that underserved populations are included in the planning process.
The seminar is for emergency managers, along with stakeholders involved in emergency preparedness, climate, and equity. It is designed to include state, local,
tribal, and territorial (SLTT) emergency management and first responder communities to ensure attendees have access to key resources and planning tools on climate change and equity issues.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe how emergency managers can achieve equitable outcomes for those they serve.
- Collaborate on how to develop and revise planning materials that incorporate climate change risks and the needs of underserved populations.
