Course Overview:

This performance-level, four-hour, virtual, instructor-led course will explore the nuances of effective risk communication within Tribal Nations. Participants will gain insights into culturally sensitive communication, community engagement, and trust-building strategies tailored to the diverse traditions of indigenous communities. The course will also address assessing information credibility, utilizing evidence-based resources, and employing various communication methods throughout all emergency management phases.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify the impact of community engagement in risk reduction within Tribal Nations.
  2. Compare the various methods available to communicate during all emergency management phases.
